"I have spent so much of my life thinking that power is looking like a man. The cowgirl outfit is very much more manly looking than what I’m wearing tonight. So I think that this is the right outfit. Being a woman is very powerful. It doesn’t have to be anything like a man."

"It does feel like a costume to me, but it’s fun. You can be something you sort of aren’t, but inside you’re the same person. You always get found out no matter what you wear."

"Thinking about what makes me feel powerful is just being myself, I guess. My mom hates these pants, but I love them even though they’re getting holes in them and I’m putting fishnet in the knees."
