Featured Interview

"I work in a very modern job and I am a student here at the University of New Mexico. It’s very rare nowadays that we wear our traditional clothing. We wear our clothing mainly for ceremonial things and for social events, and so every time I have an opportunity to wear it, I feel powerful. It reminds me of my connection back to my people, back to my land, back to the beliefs that I am charged with the responsibility of protecting."

Shiyaichiti Theresa Pasqual, 2008, Albuquerque, NM
